Nutritional Therapy for Endometriosis
Endometriosis is the development of abnormal cells which are formed in the lining of the uterus. These abnormal cells are usually expelled during menstruation, in women with Endometriosis these cells can travel to other areas of the body and deposit in organs such as the ovaries, fallopian tubes, bladder and bowel, these abnormal cells respond to hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle and can cause physical and emotional discomfort.
Endometriosis is common in women who produce high levels of a hormone called oestrogen, this is known as oestrogen dominance. Nutritional Therapy can be used to help reduce levels of oestrogen. High oestrogen levels are associated with many gynaecological disorders such as heavy periods, tender and swollen breasts, PMS symptoms, fibroids, weight gain and bloating.
Nutritional Therapy works by addressing the root cause of symptoms instead of just treating symptoms, you will be provided with a plan which will include recommendations for dietary changes, lifestyle changes, diagnostic testing and nutritional supplements. We will devise a plan together which will be monitored over a length of time.
Nutritional Therapy is not a quick fix and needs to be maintained, the programme is a health enhancing programme which will help you to have more energy, will add vital vitamins and minerals to your body and will help you to lead a healthier and happier life.
